Thomas Durand (France, 1993) is a self-taught musician based in Nantes. As a performer, sound engineer, DJ and curator, he likes to experience music in different ways and from different perspectives. Using his intuition and computing tools, he developpes MIDI instruments for his live performances, playing on his non-academic background to simulate virtuosity and to develop spontaneous and radical gestures.
He has toured in festivals and venues across Europe since 2011 with his solo project Tutoriel and with Arnaud Aubry as Elastic Systems. He also teaches Ableton Live, organises events for Jardin C in Nantes, and composes music for dance. His last collaborations include choregraphers such as Eli Lécuru, Laurent Cebe and Julie Nioche.
